School Uniform Information for Parents

School uniform is ordered online through our supplier Mapac.   Items can be ordered via their website and items will be delivered to your home.   Please allow at least 10-14 days for items to be delivered.   Access to their website is via the school website at: www.thegroveacademy.org.uk (click on the Mapac logo).

With effect from September 2013, our compulsory school uniform is as follows:

Early Years Foundation Stage & KS1

• Black skirt, dress or trousers/shorts
• School V Neck sweatshirt only available from Mapac
• Red polo shirt only available from Mapac
• Girls must wear white socks or black tights and boys must wear black socks
• Indoor and outdoor black shoes (no heels or logos, and with sensible fastenings)
• House colour PE T-shirt only available from Mapac ( Nursery children plain white t-shirt)
• Black PE shorts – no logos
• Black Plimsolls

KS2

• Black skirt, dress or trousers/shorts
• School V Neck sweatshirt only available from Mapac
• White blouse or shirt with collar
• School Tie only available from Mapac
• Girls must wear white socks or black tights and boys must wear black socks
• Indoor and outdoor black shoes (no heels or logos, and with sensible fastenings)
• House colour PE T-shirt only available from Mapac
• Black PE shorts – no logos
• Black Plimsolls or trainers

Recommended Items:

• Book Bag (Nursery – Y2)
• Gym/shoe bag (Nursery – Y2)
• Kit/swim bag (Y3 – Y6)
• Primo shoulder bag (Y3 – Y6)

Optional Items:

• Black embroidered fleece
• Black coat embroidered on one side

Jewellery

• Children in Nursery, Reception and KS1 are not allowed to wear any jewellery including earrings.   Children must remove earrings before coming to school.
• Children in KS2 may wear a small, flat, non hooped stud earring but will be expected to remove them themselves for PE, games and physical activities.

Fashionable Items

• Hair braids, friendship bracelets and charity bands are not to be worn in school.
• Children must not come to school wearing either nail varnish or make up.
• Extreme hair styles are not permitted.

Mobile phones should not be brought to school.   If it is essential, the phone must be handed in to the school office during the day for safe keeping.
