School Uniform Policy

ST. MARY’S RC PRIMARY SCHOOL

The following has been prescribed by the Governing Body, and is agreed by each parent when their child is admitted:

	GIRLS	BOYS
STANDARD UNIFORM	Navy skirt or pinafore dress	Grey trousers
	Royal blue jumper or cardigan	Royal blue jumper
	Pale blue blouse	Pale blue shirt
	School tie (navy and light blue diagonal broad stripes)	School tie (navy and light blue diagonal broad stripes)

OPTIONAL IN SUMMER (*Note: The polo shirt (boys and girls) is worn without a tie. )	Short sleeved polo shirt* in pale blue, aertex material. (Worn with the school skirt as above). EACH CHILD MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING P.E. CLOTHES (BOYS AND GIRLS)

White T-shirt

Navy shorts

Black plimsolls (slip-on or lace-up)

(Plimsolls may also be worn during break times)

A PE kit bag is required. The official bag is royal blue

Juniors must have a plain navy track-suit, (to be worn over the usual kit for P.E. and games in cold weather)

(Only plain navy is permitted, or the official school sweatshirt). The tracksuit is optional for Infants.

Important notes:

1. TRAINING SHOES, BOOTS, AND FOOTWEAR WITH OPEN TOES OR HEELS, ARE NOT TO BE WORN IN SCHOOL

2. Uniform should be plain, except for the official school logo and printing. Other logos, graphics or printing are not permitted.

A reminder about other aspects of appearance:

Hairstyles should be plain and conventional, excessive length and excessive shortness should be avoided. Adornments such as beads are not permitted except for a simple hair-band or ribbon in blue or white. Razor lines and shapes are not permitted.”

Jewellery should not be worn in school, in particular ear-rings, studs, sleepers etc. are not permitted. This is a safety rule.

Children in the nursery must wear a school tracksuit, (plain navy), and plimsolls. If you wish they may wear a light blue polo shirt, or light blue polo neck sweater with the tracksuit.

NURSERY and INFANT children will require a bookbag
