The following items of school wear form the basis of a school uniform for St. James’ Church Primary School. They have been chosen for their practical and convenient nature, so that children will not be struggling with difficult items of clothing when changing for P.E. and swimming.
Sweatshirt (electric blue with school logo)
Polo shirt (Red)
Skirt (grey)
Trousers - (grey)
Blue/white checked dresses for summer
Grey/White socks or Grey tights
Coats (Optional) (with school logo)
Book Bags
Larger Book Bags (recommended for Key Stage 2)
Sensible shoes (secure black shoes [not high heels] trainers must be black)
The P.E Kit consists of:
1 White T-shirt
1 Pair of Navy Blue shorts
Pumps (preferably slip-on) It is ESSENTIAL that children are provided with pumps for outdoor P.E.
A Pump Bag
Please mark all clothing and footwear clearly with your child’s name. During snowy or wet weather, a change of footwear is essential, as wellingtons may not be worn in classrooms.
Hairstyles:-
Hairstyles should be neat and sensible, no coloured hair or shaved stripes.
Jewellery and Nail Varnish
Jewellery and nail varnish should not be worn in school. Watches may be worn but should be handed to the class teacher for safe keeping during P.E. or swimming sessions.
Please discourage your child from wearing earrings. If necessary children with pierced ears may wear stud types only, but parents must accept responsibility if any injuries are incurred. Our concern is the possibility of accidents which can be incurred in P.E. lessons or playground activities. Earrings must be removed for PE. If your child is not able to take their own earrings out please ensure that they do not wear earrings on the day they have PE.
Please order by 31st July to avoid disappointment
