School Uniform

 There is a g reat deal of pride in the history associated with the current school red and strength of feeling that this should not be changed. 

The Governing Body has decided however to make the following changes:

·           All jumpers and cardigans will be required to have a school badge on them

·           The school name under the badge will be changed to ‘The Nethersole Academy’

Girls

· Grey or black knee length skirt or pinafore

Or

· Smart grey or black trousers

· White blouse or polo shirt

· Red school sweatshirt or cardigan

· Black shoes – not trainers or boots

· Grey or Red Tights or white socks

· Optional – red and white checked dress, sandals for summer

Boys

· Smart grey or black trousers

· White shirt or polo shirt

· Red school sweatshirt

· Black shoes – not trainers or boots

· Optional – smart grey or black shorts and sandals for summer

PE Kit

· Plain black shorts or jogging bottoms

· Plain white t-shirt

· Black pumps

· Trainers for outdoors

All clothing and footwear MUST be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Appearance

To ensure that our children look smart in their school uniforms and develop the correct work ethic at an early age please note the following expectations regarding appearance:

· Children should have ‘professional looking’ hairstyles i.e. no dyed hair, harsh haircuts or patterns (‘tramlines’) shaved into their hair

· Earrings - children may only wear one stud earring in each ear and they will be asked to remove them for PE and swimming. Staff cannot remove earrings for children and ears cannot be covered with plasters/ tape to allow them to participate in PE. Ears should not be pierced during the school year – this should take place at the beginning of the summer holidays.

· No necklaces, bracelets or rings should be worn
