In partnership with parents, families and the community we want our pupils to enter secondary school with confidence being caring and respectful pupils with a love of learning.
To achieve our vision:
· We have high expectations
· The climate is challenging and supportive
· Adults support children to develop emotionally, establish relationships for learning and gain confidence to think for themselves.
· To create a nurturing environment, where children develop and enjoy their time at school.
· We encourage the children to be actively involved in developing learning skills and ideas, in order that they can work and achieve their best.
· Children are set challenging, yet achievable targets and children play an active role in the setting and review of these targets.
· Spiritual, moral, cultural and social development is promoted.
· We are a school that works with parents and the wider community to enhance every child’s success.
· We ensure that effort and success are celebrated.
· We believe that Everyone is Good at Something (EIGAS)
· Children are reminded to ‘Treat others as you wish to be treated.’

Values
Disability Discrimination Act
Murston Junior School ensures all specific issues relating to any of the following:
are considered prior to delivery of the School Uniform Policy. Staff will ensure that any sensitive issues which come to light will be fed back through the confidentiality form to the Head Teacher.
Equal opportunities
The school’s equal opportunities policy applies to this policy. Where appropriate teaching materials, individual group activities reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of British society. We try to avoid stereotyping in terms of race and gender, and pupils’ progress is monitored to ensure no pupils are disadvantaged. Pupils’ religious beliefs will be respected. Parents are always welcome to discuss these issues with staff.
Aim
All parents are asked to send their children in school uniform. Parents are requested to name all items of clothing.
