On behalf of the Governing Body and staff, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our friendly, happy and challenging school.
Gledhow School provides a stimulating and secure environment for all its pupils. The staff work hard to provide your child with the necessary opportunities to grow and develop emotionally, socially and intellectually. Using a variety of teaching methods the children are encouraged to develop at a pace which is right for them. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that there is an appropriate match between the work and the child's ability in order to give each child a feeling of success and a desire to learn more. We encourage self-awareness and confidence whilst at the same time promoting sensitivity, support and respect for others.

Our Uniform Policy
We have an official uniform which is smart yet durable and simple.
Girls wear:
- Sky blue or white polo shirts (with or without logo).
- Maroon cardigan (with or without logo), or sweatshirt with logo
- Grey tunic, skirt, shorts or trousers.
- Gingham blue or red summer dress
Boys wear
- Maroon sweatshirt with logo
- Grey trousers or shorts.
There is a Gledhow burgundy jacket available though children may wear any outer garment suitable for the weather.
Children are required to wear appropriate shoes or trainers suitable for outdoor play. These can be of any colour. Please ensure your child can tie laces if necessary; otherwise please provide velcro fastenings.
All children are required to change into black canvas pumps in school.
P.E . Kit
- White collarless T-shirt (with or without logo)
- Burgundy striped shorts or black cycling shorts
- Burgundy hoodie with PE logo
- Black tracksuit trousers
- Trainers
- Maroon drawstring kit bag with logo
- When required for swimming all girls must wear a one piece costume and all boys shouls wear a tight fitting swimming costume and not ‘baggy shorts’. Children are asked to wear a swimming hat.
School Bag
- Maroon school book bag with logo (all years)
- Maroon heavy duty book bag with logo (for year 3 and above)
