DELPH SIDE COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL

SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY
(as outlined in the school prospectus)

The governors have recently reviewed and updated the policy on school uniform.

(The sections which have been altered are in bold type.)


All pupils attending Delph Side should wear the following uniform:

•    Sensible, plain black footwear, with low heels (no more than 2cm high).
In hot weather, lighter sandals or white pumps can be worn, but these must be flat and sensible.
•    School trousers and skirts must be plain grey, black or navy. Tracksuit bottoms are not suitable.

In summer, plain navy, grey or black cotton shorts can be worn; not football shorts. The girls may wear blue and white checked gingham dresses.
•    Plain white shirts (polo or cotton), with or without the school badge.
•    Plain navy sweatshirts or cardigans with or without the school badge.
•    If tights are worn in winter, they should also be plain white, navy, grey or black.
Pupils not wearing school uniform will be questioned, and parents contacted.

PE KIT
•    Plain blue shorts and plain white t-shirt
•    Trainers or pumps (a change of footwear is preferable).
•    In cold weather only, track suits or joggers and sweatshirts can be worn.

These could be kept in a PE bag, which stays in school from Monday to Friday.
Please name all school uniform and PE kit.

JEWELLERY

No jewellery to be worn in school except small studs in pierced ears. These must be either removed or covered for PE lessons.
Watches can be worn.

Teachers will confiscate any jewellery pupils bring to school, which will then have to be collected from the office by parents.

HAIR
We expect all children to look clean and smart for school. Long hair should be tied back for reasons of health and safety.
